The Art of Rust

We often gaze in awe and wonder at the natural landscapes of places like The Grand Canyon, Bryce and Zion, and other areas throughout the world where the elements, mainly wind and rain, have shaped the earth in marvelous ways. Those same elements do their work on metal, rusting them, deforming them, making them into shapes with colors and hues often beautiful, sometimes grotesque. The art of rust takes a look up close at some of Nature’s handiwork. A local junk yard with lots of old metal machinery, pipes, posts, scaffolds and tools  takes on appearances that we at first glance cast off as ugly and not worth our attention; but, looking more closely, we see the same forces at work here that shaped of our most cherished landscapes…..
